This November, the 2017 Kendal Mountain Photography Competition Presented by Danner, will give photographers of all levels the chance to share their vision of mountain landscapes, adventure pursuits, people and places.

This prestigious competition has become a top highlight of Kendal Mountain Festival and every year it continues to raise the bar in discovering new talent and celebrate images that reflect the creative vision and originality of the photographer.

Shortlisted entries will be exhibited in key festival locations and will be rewarded with top prizes from Danner and the supporting sponsors F-Stop and Smugmug.

Categories include:
• Adventure in the Outdoors
• Mountain Landscapes
• Young Photographer-‘Adventure on your doorstep’ (18 years and under)
• Smartphone – ‘Friends in High Places’
• Fido on the Fells (Canine shots up high)
• Urban Outdoors

+ People’s Choice Award
+ Grand Prize (Overall Winner)

The judging panel, overseen by esteemed US photographer Jim Herrington along with representatives from KMF and Danner, will be looking for images that capture those perfect moments in daily adventures, either in the wilderness or urban landscapes.

The Grand Prize Winner will receive a 4*, 2 night, half board stay for 2 in Danner’s Partner Hotel, the luxurious Huus Hotel in Switzerland, plus 2 pairs of Danner boots!

Top contenders will be invited to attend a private reception on Friday 17^th November in Kendal and the grand prize and people’s choice awards will be announced at the festival awards ceremony on Saturday 18^th November.
