Blue Earth Summit 2021

A two-day live event for like-minded thinkers, explorers, and storytellers with a shared mission to make positive change and act in the interests of the environment.

Blue Earth Summit 2021 is set to explore what it takes to build a sustainable future as it launches this autumn. For two days, from October 13th to 14th, attendees will gain access to some of the world’s most renowned speakers, explorers, and activists in the UK’s greenest city, Bristol.

Appealing to an audience of like-minded individuals with a shared mission to protect the environment, the Blue Earth Summit will bring together positive thinkers across business, the outdoor industries, elite sport, academia, activism, and sustainability.

‘The team at Blue Earth Summit are collectively very passionate about the three key event themes of living and working sustainably, protecting the landscapes we love, and being healthy inside and out,’ says Steph Pomphrey, Head of Communications for the Blue Earth Summit. ‘Climate action is on everyone’s lips, climate change is touching everyone’s lives, and with the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow taking place in November, providing a platform for positive action when we’re all trying to solve the problem of human impact is absolutely the right thing to do.’

Day one of the Blue Earth Summit will see a programme designed to inspire attendees, with actionable insight and debate from sustainability leaders including Sir Tim Smit from the Eden Project, and inspirational tales from adventurers and storytellers at The Marble Factory near Bristol’s harbourside.

Campfire sessions will share stories from those who are putting change into practice and making a difference. Sidetracked will be hosting a panel led by adventurer Jenny Tough; Jo Royle, the founder of social enterprise Common Seas; adventure photographer Ian Finch; and Wildlife Presenter, Filmmaker, and biologist Lizzie Daly.

There will also be workshops by experts on going carbon neutral and putting the planet before profit, an exhibition floor, and an investor corner with live pitches from shortlisted entrants resulting in investment for the winners.

Day two will focus on experience, encouraging an outdoor and active lifestyle at one of the country’s most exciting sporting venues, The Wave, Bristol.

Steph adds, ‘As a team, outdoor lifestyles are ingrained. Bringing together the great and the good from those worlds, alongside other eminently positive leaders and thinkers, will help people define their own positive habits and provide focus for the future.’

Blue Earth Summit is partnering with a number of charities including Surfers Against Sewage, a grassroots movement tackling plastic pollution; Snow Camp, who inspire young people to excel through skiing; Trash Free Trails, a non-profit organisation that exists to protect our trails; and Waves For Change, a surf therapy programme providing youth with experiences to meet their well-being needs.

Blue Earth Summit has been organised by Wavelength Media, an independent agency set up to inspire people to get outdoors, be healthy, and live a sustainable life.
