Patagonia Worn Wear Tour returns

Events
Patagonia Worn Wear Tour returns Patagonia Worn Wear snow tour returns

Patagonia’s Worn Wear Tour will be heading to 28 winter sports destinations around Europe, including 11 dates in January across Scotland.

The team will offer skiers and snowboarders free repairs on broken zips, rips, tears, buttons, pulls and more, as well as teaching people how to fix their own gear. For the first time, it will also offer technical repairs on GORE-TEX® garments.

A bespoke wooden snow trailer, created by Belgian tiny house builders Wildernest, will be launched at Engelberg in January and tour snow destinations in Europe including Laax, Val d’Isère, Innsbruck, La Grave and Chamonix. It will be visiting venues across Scotland between 13-28 January (dates below), including Fort William, Aviemore, Aberdeen, Perth, Renfrew and Edinburgh. The trailer will house technical repair equipment as well as hot chocolate and good vibes. It will educate people on how to keep snow gear in good condition for multiple seasons, and will teach skills such as patching and re-waterproofing shells and fixing zips.

The Worn Wear initiative encourages customers to extend the lifetime of their garments. The Patagonia repair team will offer free repairs on any brand of clothing, on a first-come, first-served basis.

According to Patagonia, extending the life of garments, through proper care and repair, is the single most important thing we can do to lower our impact on the planet, and reduces the need to buy more over time – thereby avoiding the CO2 emissions, waste output and water usage required to build it. By keeping our clothing in use just nine extra months, we can reduce related carbon, waste and water footprints by 20-30 per cent each, according to the UK-based group WRAP – simply because we’re making and throwing away less.
