Banff Mountain Film Festival Tour 2025
Events
The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is set to return to the UK and Ireland in 2025, bringing an inspiring line-up of outdoor adventure films to audiences. With two new collections of short films, this year’s tour will showcase remarkable stories of exploration, endurance, and the natural world.
Now in its 16th year, the UK and Ireland tour will visit 50 locations during the spring and autumn, offering an opportunity to experience the wonders of the outdoors from the comfort of a cinema seat. As tour director Nell Teasdale explains:
‘These films take viewers on extraordinary journeys, whether it’s climbing, skiing, paddling, or running in some of the planet’s most remote and beautiful places. They’re a celebration of the human spirit and the outdoors, and we hope they inspire people to connect with adventure in their own way.’
In addition to the films, each event will include a free prize draw featuring outdoor gear from the tour’s partners. The selected films have been drawn from over 500 entries to the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival, held annually in the Canadian Rockies.

This Year’s Film Highlights
A Team Sport
Ultra-runner Courtney Dauwalter takes on a challenge of extraordinary proportions: completing three legendary 100-mile races in a single summer, including the Tour du Mont Blanc in the Alps. This film offers a thoughtful look at her achievements, as well as her perspective on the collective spirit that drives the trail running community.
Of A Lifetime
Three skiers and snowboarders journey to Antarctica, sailing across the Drake Passage to tackle some of the continent’s steepest and most remote slopes. Against the stark beauty of the White Continent, this film reflects on the passing of knowledge and inspiration between generations of adventurers.
Soul Flyers – The Longest Line
Fred Fugen, Vincent Cotte, and Aurélien Chatard set a world record for the longest terrain-flying wingsuit line. Travelling 7.5km over Mont Blanc’s iconic peaks, glaciers, and cliffs, this visually stunning film immerses the viewer in the skill and precision required for such a feat.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour continues to celebrate the power of storytelling and the natural world, bringing tales of courage, resilience, and awe-inspiring landscapes to the big screen. For those who love the outdoors or are simply curious about the adventures others embark upon, it’s an unmissable event.
